Terms of Use
Scope
These terms govern your use of mountainpasses.app (the "site") before the launch of the Mountain Passes iOS app. They do not yet govern the app itself — the app will be covered by its own End User License Agreement and the App Store's standard terms at launch.
About the site
The site is an informational and pre-launch page operated by Michael Steurer, a private individual based in Italy. See the Imprint for full contact details.
What the site offers
- Information about the forthcoming Mountain Passes app.
- Articles and pass profiles for general interest.
- A voluntary waitlist signup so we can notify you when the app launches.
The site does not sell, deliver, or grant access to any paid product. Nothing on it is an offer to contract.
Your use of the site
You may access and read the site for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- use the site in any way that would violate Italian or EU law,
- attempt to disrupt the site or its infrastructure,
- scrape or bulk-download content for unrelated commercial purposes,
- submit false email addresses or impersonate another person in the waitlist form.
Waitlist signup
Submitting your email on the waitlist form counts as your consent for us to store it and to send you a single launch-announcement email. You can unsubscribe or request deletion at any time — see the Privacy Policy for details.
Intellectual property
All text, photography, illustrations, code, and design on the site are either owned by Michael Steurer or used under licence. You may not copy, republish, or create derivative works from them without written permission. Mentions of third-party passes, roads, or regions are purely descriptive.
Vintage poster imagery is shown for preview purposes; rights to the original artworks remain with their respective holders.
Disclaimers
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to keep the information accurate, but we make no warranty that it is complete, current, or error-free. Mountain-road information in particular can change quickly and should be verified with official sources before you travel.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Michael Steurer is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Italian law — including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have.
External links
The site links to third-party resources such as OpenStreetMap. We are not responsible for the content or practices of external sites.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The current version is always the one published on this page; the "Last updated" date at the top indicates when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after changes are published means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. For any dispute we cannot resolve informally, the competent courts are those of Bolzano, Italy, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules grant you the right to sue in the courts of your place of residence.
